Kale chips are a simple, crunchy, and nutritious snack made by baking kale leaves until crisp. They are easy to season, quick to prepare, and a great way to enjoy leafy greens in a lighter, snackable form.
Ingredients
- 1 large bunch kale
- 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, optional
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika, optional
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300 F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Wash the kale well and dry it completely. Remove the tough stems and tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces.
- Place the kale in a large bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and massage gently until all leaves are lightly coated.
- Sprinkle with salt and any optional seasonings, then toss to distribute evenly.
- Spread the kale in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet without overcrowding.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, checking often, until the leaves are crisp but not browned.
- Let the chips cool for a few minutes before serving so they become even crispier.
