This Hamburger Casserole is a cozy, family-friendly main dish made with seasoned ground beef, pasta, tomato sauce, and a creamy cheese topping. It is simple to assemble, budget-friendly, and ideal for busy weeknights or make-ahead dinners.

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 C and lightly grease a medium baking dish.
  2. Cook the macaroni in salted water until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened.
  4. Add the garlic and ground beef. Cook until the beef is browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.
  5. Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, salt, black pepper, paprika, and oregano. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. In a bowl, mix the sour cream and milk until smooth.
  7. Combine the cooked pasta with the beef sauce in the baking dish. Spoon the sour cream mixture over the top, then sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until hot and bubbly and the cheese is melted.
  9. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
