This classic guacamole is fresh, creamy, and full of bright flavor. Made with ripe avocados, lime juice, cilantro, onion, tomato, and a touch of salt, it comes together in minutes and works as a dip for chips, a topping for tacos, or a side for grilled dishes.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe avocados
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1/4 cup finely diced red onion
- 1 small tomato, seeded and diced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 small jalapeño, seeded and minced, optional
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
- 1 clove garlic, minced, optional
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
- Mash the avocados with a fork until mostly smooth, leaving some small chunks for texture.
- Add the lime juice, red onion, tomato, cilantro, jalapeño if using, salt, garlic if using, and black pepper.
- Stir gently until just combined. Taste and adjust the seasoning with more salt or lime juice if needed.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips, tacos, burrito bowls, or grilled meats. If storing, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface and refrigerate for up to 1 day.
